2026 Annual Spring Recital Information
May 18th-21st at GJHS Auditorium/ Theatre
We are working on the details for our annual spring recital. Please go over the following thoroughly and mark your calendars for the following dates.
Our annual spring recital’s theme is “Dancing Through Colors ”. This will be held at Grand Junction High School’s Auditorium/ theatre. We are thrilled to be performing in this new facility that proves to have plenty of seating capacity, backstage space for kids as well as performance stage space and lighting options to truly showcase your kids and make them truly feel the magic of performing!
If you are new to the studio, once a year each class, except for our Tots 2-3 years old program, will learn a full-length dance starting in February, to perform in costume, be on stage, and experience performing in a real performing arts theatre. For those who have participated in the past, this has proven to be well worth the extra cost by giving students the opportunity to perform and gain confidence and growth within themselves as well as understanding the purpose of attending their dance classes.. Costumes are purchased for each dance by each dancer and range in price from $55-$85 per class. Tickets will also be sold ($13 for youth, and $18 for adults) to cover the theater rental and technician costs. Dancers will also receive a complimentary high-quality recording, a digital link from the recital sent out via email about 4 weeks following the events to emails we have on file.
To keep show lengths at an enjoyable time frame for both the audience and dancers backstage, we will be dividing classes into different shows over the course of the 4 days. We will be looking closely at current enrollment to group classes where students are in multiple classes, as well as families with multiple children, into the same performance to the best ability. Keep in mind that when you pay your costume deposit, you are committing to that class/ designated costume for the remainder of the year as each class will be learning/ performing separately.
Exact times and details are to be announced by late January, via email and class hand-outs. Please stay connected, to ensure you have up-to-date information.
All students will have a $40 nonrefundable DEPOSIT for every dance class that your child is enrolled in added to your account, dated Jan 5th.
We will NOT automatically process the deposit if you are on ACH/ EFT auto payments to make sure we receive a verbal agreement prior. The deposits are non-transferable and non-refundable once ordered. This DOES NOT mean you are required to perform. If your child is not performing, contact the office, and the charge will be removed from your account. Dancers can still learn the dances within the class. Please decide whether your child is performing no later than January 30th to make sure we are billing and ordering the correct costumes as some costumes can take up to 12 weeks to receive. The balance of costume fees will be due Feb 25th. To help offset recital costs, Absolute Dance will host a fun Dance-a-THON fundraiser on February 21st which many dancers have been able to raise enough to cover the costs of their costumes and even extra for summer camps and/ or tuition. Packets will be available soon that will have detailed information on it.
It is also required that dancers have the appropriate shoes in order to perform. Please make sure your child has black jazz shoes or the instructor may designate “turners” instead if enrolled in jazz, black tap shoes for tap, and pink leather or canvas ballet shoes for PreK and ballet classes (black for boys) as well as a tight color that will be announced with final costume information.
If you have any questions regarding the year-end recital, please call the office @ 255-8322 or email us @ office@absolutedancegj.com. Thank you for sharing your child at Absolute Dance.
