If you have a student currently 6 and older AND currently enrolled in ballet as well as has had previous onstage performance experience (such as a recital), then you are eligible to audition for Colorado West Performing Arts Company's 2023 Nutcracker! Please wear hair in a ballet bun, pink tights/ leotard for girls and black tights (shorts ok for beginners), white t-shirt and ballet shoes.

Colorado West Performing Arts Company (CWPAC), a 501(c)3 nonprofit, is Western CO’s premier ballet company. CWPAC will open their Nutcracker Auditions up to children ages 6 & older who have previous ballet experience and are currently enrolled in a ballet class.  There will be nine performances presented at CMU’s Robinson Theatre; 12/16 at 2 & 7pm, 12/17 at 1pm, 12/20 at 7pm, 12/21 at 7pm, 12/22 at 2 & 7pm. and 12/23 2 & 7pm. Children’s Cast will be divided into up to three casts with each cast performing a minimum of 3 performances (some parts may be just split cast with up to five performances). All dancers auditioning need to be available 12/15-12/23.  Casts will be announced by Sept 23rd via email with specific performance dates so you can get your tickets, join the 23 Nutcracker "band" group, confirm participation and start gathering feedback to purchase tickets as they are already starting to sell and a smaller theatre. There is an Audition fee of $35 due in advance (pay here to register along with competing the google form https://app.thestudiodirector.com/absolutedancegj/admin.sd?page=NewClass&clicktab=1) or at the time of the audition along with completing this form https://forms.gle/2pkV5qFDCUcsakEH7. This fee will go towards the $115 performance fee and will include rehearsals, costume rentals, and a digital link to the performance. In addition to this fee, we are requiring a minimum of 10 hours volunteer hours/ family.  This may include help with marketing, backstage help, costume organization, Public Relations, and performance follow ups. Rehearsals will be starting as early as 9/30 & 10/1 for some roles. The remainder $80 participation fee will be due by 9/30. 

All weekly rehearsals will be on Friday after school 4:00-8p and/ or Saturday between 10a-5p.  Your dancers will not need to be there the entire time, just available at these times.  Specific schedule for casts will be posted shortly after casting.
